The itinerary, day by day

  1. Day 1: Vale do Pati and the Pati Lookout

Hiker seen from behind high up in the Vale do Pati, looking at the green valley surrounded by cliffs

The expedition begins by entering the Vale do Pati from the village of Guiné.

The trail crosses the Gerais do Rio Preto to the famous Pati Lookout, one of the highlights of the crossing. Then the hike continues toward the Pati River, where you can enjoy a swim before spending the night in a local family's guesthouse.

The third day takes travelers to the top of the Cachoeirão Canyon.

The trail crosses the Gerais to the edge of the canyon, one of the most impressive landscapes in the Vale do Pati.

In the rainy season, several waterfalls can appear on the canyon walls, creating a natural spectacle.

At the end of the day, the expedition leaves the Vale do Pati and heads to Mucugê, where the night is spent.

The path passes the Orquídeas and Recanto Verde waterfalls before reaching the canyon that leads to the Buracão.

Considered one of the most challenging days of the expedition, the fifth day is dedicated to the Fumacinha Waterfall.

Much of the route follows the riverbed inside the canyon, requiring attention and physical fitness.

It is about 18 km of hiking, through landscapes of towering rock walls and past the Encontro Waterfall, until reaching the Fumacinha.

After time to take in the view and rest, the group returns the same way and heads to Mucugê.

  6. Day 6: Poço Encantado, Poço Azul and Morro do Pai Inácio

Poço Encantado: beam of blue light crossing the clear water at the bottom of the cave

The last day brings together three remarkable experiences in Chapada Diamantina.

The first stop is Poço Encantado, known for its crystal-clear water and the natural light phenomenon at certain times of the year.

Next, the route continues to Poço Azul, where the experience includes floating, depending on conditions and the site's rules.

To end the expedition, the group heads to Morro do Pai Inácio, where a short hike leads to the top for one of the best-known panoramic views of the Chapada.
